DCS's Workforce Training Fund Express Program offers fifty percent reimbursements to participating companies that select training programs from the approved list - which includes Leadership Dynamics, Inc. Total grant amounts may not exceed $15,000 per company per year and there is a limit of $3,000 per employee per course. The program is also restricted to Massachusetts-based companies with 50 or fewer employees.
"The numbers add up just right for LDI's clients," says Leadership Dynamic's CEO Paul Brown. "For the price of one cafe latte per day, a CEO can provide his employees with goal setting, organizational and success tools that deliver real dollars to the bottom line. We offer two proven programs through DCS Express - with savings up $1,625 per student."
CEO Norman Boudreau of I-C Federal Credit Union says, "Tough times are the worst time to cut people-power investments. Given another choice, most executives would jump at the opportunity to get quality training at a bargain-basement price. This program is a no-brainer for me."
The Workforce Training Fund Express is targeted to small employers -- with 50 employees or less -- and labor organizations. Applicants must choose a training course or program from a pre-approved training directory. Applications may be submitted online at any time. Grants are up to $3,000 per employee per course and up to $15,000 per year per employer.
The Workforce Training Fund's General Program is designed for large and small businesses, labor and business organizations. Applications requesting more than $50,000 are by deadline and are reviewed by an advisory panel of business and labor leaders. Grant requests of $50,000 and under may be submitted on a rolling basis. If a completed application requesting $50,000 or less is received by the first business day of the month, it will be reviewed by the end of the month.
"The DCS training grants program is a smart blend of corporate resources with state sponsorship. Well-trained employees are more productive and happier in their jobs. Conversely, a faltering economy bites into both staffing levels and training budgets. It's a vicious cycle - unhappy, under-skilled employees can't excel during such a critical period in a company's lifespan. This program makes it practical for executives to do the right thing - at the right price."
Paul Brown, CEO, Leadership Dynamics Inc.
Employee training tops most companies' wish lists, but in a down economy, only the lucky few can afford it. That's where the Massachusetts Division of Career Services (DCS) steps in by partnering with Massachusetts companies to underwrite up to $15,000 of an approved training program.
